A probationary licence has been issued to an Edmonton daycare due to ongoing safety concerns, the province announced on Friday.
The probationary licence applies to Play ‘N’ Fun Day Care and OSC in southwest Edmonton, with a term set to expire on July 9.
The province says the step was taken because a number of non-compliances have gone unremedied by the provider.
The daycare must notify all parents of its probationary status and provide evidence of notification to the province.
According to provincial data, the daycare was cited for staffing and supervision issues on March 5 with an order to remedy by April 8.
On March 26 the daycare was again found to be non-compliant on staffing and supervision and a non-compliance was also issued for use of physical restraint, confinement or isolation.
Since November 2023, the daycare has received 41 non-compliances.

Child care programs that don’t meet the standards set out by the Alberta government can be subject to enforcement action, including suspension of licence and probation.
If the program is unable to return to compliance during the probationary period, the suspended licence expires.
The province says cancellation of a licence is a last resort.
A licence holder who is subject to a decision about their licence may request an administrative review, dispute resolution or appeal within 30 days of the decision.
