Saskatoon teen accused of pepper spraying, robbing multiple Alta. victims

A teen is accused of assaulting multiple people with pepper spray and stealing items the victims were trying to sell.

On Jan. 29, a seller in Bonnyville was sprayed near 43 Street around 3:30 p.m.

According to RCMP, this happened two more times on Feb. 2 in Lloydminster around 5:30 p.m. near 80 Avenue and 6:40 p.m. near 43 Street.

The thief was arrested on Feb. 4 in St. Paul, Alta., and turned out to be a 17-year-old from Saskatoon, Sask. He was charged in relation to the Bonnyville incident with:

two counts of robbery;

assault; and

theft over $5,000.

He was also charged with the following for the Lloydminster incidents:

five counts of failure to comply with release order;

two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;

two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm;

two counts of robbery;

possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized;

possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle;

robbery to steal firearm; and

possession of a break-in instrument.

He can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 11 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
