On Jan. 30, scammers who identified themselves as bank employees called an 85-year-old man and said his credit cards were being used outside of the city, police said.

The senior was instructed to cut up his credit and debit cards, place them inside an envelope and wait for a bank courier to pick it up.

Police said two men were seen on a surveillance camera using his credit cards, racking up more than $30,000 shortly after the pick up.

Anyone with information about the two men is asked to call Edmonton police at 780-423-4567, or dial #377 from a cell phone.
