A fire at a north Edmonton pawn shop is under control as crews contend with both the blaze amid cold weather.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services said crews answered the call of the fire at 4:45 a.m. at the Avenue Trading Post, arriving four minutes later.
At one point, 11 fire crews were at the building on 118 Avenue at 95A Street, and had the blaze under control at 11:30 a.m.
Edmonton fire said no one was inside the building and that people in adjacent buildings were evacuated quickly.

Edmonton police said Sunday afternoon 118 Avenue is closed between 95 and 97 streets, and that 95A Street is closed between 118 and 119 avenues.
The outside temperature at the scene when the fire call first came in was -26 C with a wind chill of -30.
Eight crews continued to attend to the fire at the ice-encrusted structure early Sunday afternoon.
