Waverly School classrooms without heat; students relocated to Hardisty

Published:

Frozen pipes have forced students from Waverley School to relocate to another school for classes.

Waverly School students starting Monday will be taking class at Hardisty School indefinitely until temperatures warm up and the school’s heating system can be fixed.

In a notice to parents, the school said some of the school’s heat registers stopped working on Feb. 5, leaving most classrooms without heat.

“Once the heating system is thawed, we will determine timelines for repairs. We will keep staff and families informed as we know more,” administration wrote.

In the meantime, transportation will be provided to Hardisty School, which is about an eight-minute drive from Waverly School.

Students will keep their same timetable and teacher at Hardisty.
