Woman dies in Friday crash west of Edmonton

Published:

A woman died of her injuries on Friday in a highway crash just west of Edmonton, police said Sunday afternoon.

The 61-year-old resident of Seba Beach died at the scene Friday morning in one of several collisions on Highway 16 near Highway 60.

Emergency crews treated five other people involved in the crashes and took them to hospital.

Parkland RCMP said one of them was in critical condition.

Police had reported poor driving conditions throughout central Alberta as a spring storm brought 29.5 cm of snow to Edmonton on Thursday and Friday.
