Woman found dead in Strathearn home, man arrested

A woman was found dead in Strathearn on Tuesday, and police believe her death was a homicide.

At about 10:15 a.m., police received reports of a dead woman and a man with a weapon in a home near 95 Avenue and 91 Street.

Officers found a 30-year-old woman dead inside the home. Police said a 36-year-old man had fled the area before they arrived, but he was located and arrested shortly after.

According to police the man and women knew each other.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.
