Two men have been charged with several drug trafficking and weapons offences following a six-month police investigation this year in central and southern Alberta. RCMP investigators in Red Deer used search warrants in Red Deer, Innisfail, Airdrie and near Sundre for three homes, two camper trailers, one business and one vehicle on Sept. 10. Police seized more than six kilograms of cocaine, more than 1.4 kilograms of psilocybin mushrooms, more than 600 grams of methamphetamine and several weapons, including an uzi-style machine gun. A 37-year-old man from Airdrie faces 11 charges in the case, while a 43-year-old man from Red Deer, who appeared in court on Thursday, faces two.
