A 19-year-old from Markham has been charged in relation to a fraud investigation in Perth County.
Ontario Provincial Police said they launched an investigation on Oct. 7, 2024 after they received information that a business in Perth East Township was scammed out of almost $5,000 “through the use of fraudulent cheques.”
As a result of their investigation, police arrested and charged a 19-year-old with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and laundering proceeds of crime. The accused has been scheduled for an upcoming court appearance.
