Two people have been arrested after Brantford Police seized a large quantity of drugs and cash last week.
The investigation, dubbed Project RUSH, started in January 2025 and targeted an unnamed man who was believed to be selling cocaine.
On March 6, outside a Dalhousie Street business, officers arrested the suspect. They said there were reasonable grounds to suspect he was in possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
After his arrest, police said they found a substance, believed to be cocaine, weighing approximately 7.2 grams. The estimated street value was $700. The man was also carrying a “large quantity” of Canadian cash.
Police then executed a search warrant at a Burford home. They said they found:
- 194 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $19,400
- Xanax tablets, with an estimated street value of $3,200
- Large quantity of Canadian currency
The 29-year-old Brantford man, who was not named, faces drug-related charges.
A 30-year-old Brantford woman was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
“Project RUSH is another successful project helping to minimize the threat to our communities caused by the distribution of controlled substances, and organized criminal activity related to drug trafficking,” police said in a media release.
