Centre in the Square promises “biggest Broadway series in decades”

Big broadways and big bands were just some of the headliners that were announced in Centre in the Square's 26/27 season lineup.

Fans of Broadway musicals will be able to catch some of the biggest hits in recent years right in the heart of Kitchener, Ont.

Centre in the Square unveiled its 2026/2027 lineup on Wednesday. The theme of the season is “Dare the be there.”

Canadian bands Marianas Trench, Dwyane Gretzky and Blue Rodeo are all scheduled to hit the stage alongside a classic rock series and performances by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and Grand Philharmonic Choir.

International performers include Five for Fighting and Yamato the Drummers of Japan.

Broadway bound

“We are especially proud to present our biggest Broadway series in decades, bringing the magic of live theatre to Kitchener like never before,” Eric Lariviere, Centre in the Square’s executive director, said.

Legally Blonde the Musical, Jersey Boys, The Book of Mormon, Mrs. Doubtfire and A Christmas Story: The Musical will be featured throughout the season.

When do tickets go on sale?

Centre in the Square members can start buying tickets on May 27 as part of an exclusive presale.

Tickets for most other shows go on sale on June 8. However, people who are not members, but would like to buy individual tickets for Mrs. Doubtfire or A Christmas Story will need to wait until Aug. 24. Legally Blonde and Jersey Boys individual public tickets go on sale Sept. 27, and Book of Mormon tickets will be available to the general public on Oct. 19.
