One person was seriously injured after a crash in Woolwich Township Thursday morning.
In an email to CTV News, the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) said first responders were called to a one vehicle crash near Sawmill Road on Arthur Street South at around 10:15 a.m.
WRPS updated Thursday afternoon that after investigation, they determined that the vehicle involved left the roadway and went into a ditch, causing it to flip.
In a viewer photo, a black vehicle could be seen on its hood, significantly damaged.
A 28-year-old Kitchener man was sent to hospital with serious injuries.
In a social media post at 11:07 a.m., the WRPS said Arthur Street South was closed both ways between the Highway 85 and King Street North exit as well as the Arthur Street and Sawmill Road roundabout as the investigation continued.
Police updated at 3:02 p.m. roads had since reopened.
The investigation continues and police said charges are expected.
