Drivers are being warned of a road closure that could impact their travel time to the Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau. A culvert needs to be replaced along Fountain Street North. The work is expected to take about 10 weeks. As a result, the region is closing the road from the roundabout at Kossuth Road to the airport. The work was expected to begin on July 20, but was then pushed back to Monday, July 27. “Access to the airport will be maintained throughout construction, but delays are expected,” the region wrote in a media release. “Drivers should use an alternate route and leave extra time to get to the airport.” From Kitchener, drivers can take Kossuth Road to Shantz Station Road, then Menno Street to Fountain Street North. Drivers from Waterloo or Breslau can still get to the airport from Fountain Street North. Details of the project can be found online.
