People in Stratford, Ont. came across a gory sight on Wednesday after dozens of turkey carcasses were thrown out of a truck and onto the road.
Stratford Police Service officers were called to Ontario Street, west of Road 111, shortly after 4:30 p.m.
They said the transport truck carrying turkey carcasses destined for a feed mill was travelling eastbound when a driver turned left in front of it, cutting off the larger vehicle. The truck’s automatic emergency brakes were activated and the sudden stop caused the cargo to fly over the top of the trailer.
No charges were laid, however Ontario Street was closed for approximately two hours while crews from the trucking company dealt with the carcasses and entrails strewn across the road.
