Guelph Police are looking for a suspect after they said he robbed a bank while holding a knife Monday afternoon.

Police said they were called to a bank near Stone Road West and Scottsdale Drive just after 4 p.m. Staff told them a man walked up to a bank teller and took a large knife out of a green Food Basics reusable shopping bag. He then demanded cash. The man ran away after he was given a small, unspecified amount of money.

No one was physically hurt.

Police are looking for a white man, who could be 40 to 60-years-old with a red face. He was wearing a black jacket with the hood down, light coloured pants, black shoes, glasses and a black and red winter hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Scott Carroll at 519-824-1212, ext. 7489 or email scarroll@guelphpolice.ca.
