The Guelph Police Service went undercover to catch a man who allegedly tried to meet-up with children. Police said they were contacted by two residents who called a phone number that was written on the bathroom wall of a south-end business. One of them claimed he was 12 years old and agreed to meet the stranger for sex. Instead, the witness confronted the man when he showed up at the supposed meetup. Police launched an investigation, where one of their undercover officers posed as a 15-year-old boy and arranged to meet the man at a local park on Thursday. The 69-year-old from Guelph was arrested at the park. He was charged with two counts of arranging by telecommunication to commit a sexual offence against a child.
