It’s a sure sign of spring in the City of Stratford.

Every year people line the streets on the first Sunday of April to watch the swan’s waddle their way back to Lake Victoria after spending the snowy months in their winter quarters.

This year was no different.

The swans were released this weekend, led by the Stratford Police Pipe and Drums Band and an eager audience.

The birds made their way from Morenz Drive to Lakeside Drive, and then into the water, where the Mute Swan Society expects them to start nesting soon.
