Kitchener man rearrested, charged with sexual assault of a child

A Kitchener man is facing 11 additional charges, including sexual assault of a child, in connection to a child pornography investigation.

In Oct. 2024, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a Kitchener man who was 42 at the time. Originally, he was charged with making child pornography available and possession of child pornography.

On Monday, police said their Internet Child Exploitation Unit laid additional charges and seized several electronic devices from a home.

Police said forensic analysis of the devices revealed evidence of additional offences, including of a sexual assault of a child.

The child has been identified and is safe.

On Feb. 13, the man, now 43, was rearrested and charged with the following additional offences:

• Possession of child pornography (two counts)
• Make available child pornography
• Sexual assault
• Indecent act
• Invitation to sexual touching
• Sexual interference
• Make child pornography
• Voyeurism
• Luring children with telecommunication device
• Making sexually explicit material available to a child

The man remains in custody.
