The Kitchener Rangers are getting ready to hit the ice in their first best of seven series of this season’s Ontario Hockey League playoffs.

The Rangers wrapped up the regular season as the third seed in the Western Conference. They’ll be taking on the sixth-seed Flint Firebirds in the first round.

Fans are expected to pack the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Friday night for game 1. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

When the two teams clashed during the regular season, the Rangers came out on top three out of four times. But the Firebirds certainly put up a fight, with the games going into shootouts twice.

Last season, both teams were swept by the London Knights during the playoffs, with the Rangers falling out in the second round while Flint didn’t make it past the first round.
