Liberal Leader Mark Carney makes brief stop in Cambridge

CTV’s Alexandra Holyk is at a meet and greet hosted by the Liberal Party leader.

Ahead of Monday’s federal election, Liberal Leader Mark Carney made a stop in Cambridge Friday night.

Carney’s bus pulled up in front of Monigram Coffee Roasters on Ainslie Street. As he stepped into the store, he was greeted by applause.

This is Carney’s second stop in Waterloo Region, after a rally in Kitchener in March.

However there was no major address this time, instead, Carney shook hands with some of the people assembled inside, posed for photos and had a few sips of coffee.

When he stepped outside he gave a brief statement.

“We are in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals and there are three minutes left. We need to leave it all on the ice,” he said.

Shortly after, he got back on the bus and left for another campaign stop in London.
