Man arrested for hate-motivated Kitchener incident: WRPS

Police have made an arrest after reports of a man making racial comments and brandishing a knife at a residential building in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police said it happened Tuesday around 4 a.m. on Kehl Street.

“Through investigation, it was determined that the victim was approached by a male, who began making racial and derogatory comments towards them, while uttering threats and brandishing a knife,” said a media release.

Officers arrived and arrested the man.

A 33-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
