Man wanted for second-degree murder arrested in Brantford

A man is wanted for second-degree murder after a male was stabbed Thursday afternoon. CTV’s Jeff Pickel reports.

Brantford Police say a man wanted for a fatal stabbing in the city was arrested Friday night.

Bradley George Saunders, 27, was spotted in the Queen Street and Darling Street area around 10:12 p.m. Officers took him into custody following a “brief foot pursuit.” During his arrest, police said they found suspected crystal meth.

Saunders has been charged with second-degree murder, non-compliance with a probation order and possession of a schedule 1 drug.

On Thursday afternoon, officers were called to a disturbance at a home Charlotte Street. There they found a male with stab wounds. He died a short time later due to his injuries.

Police determined that it was not a random attack and at least two other people were involved.

One male was arrested Thursday and charged with accessory after the fact and assault with a weapon.

Police then issued a public warning about Saunders, whom they believed could be armed and dangerous.

Saunders remains in custody awaiting bail.
