A Toronto man has been charged in connection with a home invasion and robbery in Morriston, Ont., near Puslinch.
On Jan. 31, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a 9-1-1 call for a home invasion at a home in the area of Church Street and Whitcombe Way.
Police determined that three people forcefully entered a residence and confronted the occupants inside. One of the victims suffered minor injuries following an altercation with the suspects, according to police. Then the suspects reportedly took the homeowner’s vehicle and fled the scene.
“At approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Mississauga Detachment OPP located the stolen vehicle in a parking lot near Highway 401 and James Snow Parkway in the Town of Milton,” police said in a media release. “OPP arrested one suspect with the assistance of Halton Regional Police and the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit. Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene.”
A 24-year-old has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Disguise with intent
- Pointing a firearm
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Robbery using firearm (Restricted or Prohibited)
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted firearm
- Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
Two other suspects are currently outstanding, and the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is asking for public assistance by checking their CCTV / vehicle dash-cam footage in the following surrounding areas, in the event they locate the two other suspects involved in this investigation:

The public is being asked to look out for:
- Three suspects, described as darker skin tone, approximately six feet in height, skinny/lean body type, white gloves, black jackets, black pants and black masks covering their faces.
- Dark coloured Honda Civic sedan (newer model 2018+), there is no plate information at this time.
