It wasn’t quite the start the Kitchener Rangers were hoping for as they opened up their Western Conference finals series with the London Knights.

The Knights wasted no time, quickly tucking away three goals courtesy of Landon Sim, Sam Dickinson and Kasper Halttunen all within the first seven minutes of the game.

Dickinson put one more away with just ten minutes remaining in the first period to give London an early 4 – 0 lead.

Blake Montgomery kept the momentum going in the second period, finding the twine for London one more time.

The Rangers finally got on the board thanks to Luca Romano. Romano got one more goal in the third period, but it wasn’t enough to best London.

The Knights take Game 1 with a score of 5 – 2.

Game 2 is set for Sunday in London at 4 p.m.
