The Kitchener Rangers will live to play another day.
The Rangers returned to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, facing the possibility of elimination as they trailed the Windsor Spitfires 3 – 0 in their Ontario Hockey League second round playoff series.
After a scoreless first period, Luke Ellinas got the Rangers on the board.
He went on to be the hometown hero, earning a hat trick to stave off elimination with a score of 3 - 0.
Rangers netminder Jackson Parsons also got his first shutout of the post season.
The series moves back to Windsor for a Good Friday matchup. The Rangers are still in a do or die situation with the Spitfires leading the series 3 – 1.
