Environment Canada has issued several severe thunderstorm warnings and watches throughout southwestern Ontario Saturday morning, including a severe thunderstorm watch in Waterloo Region. The alert came out around 9 a.m., with storms possible in the morning through to the afternoon. Residents can expect possible wind gusts up to 100km/h, quarter-sized hail, and 25 to 50 mm of rain. The weather unit says a potential storm could bring local outages, damage to houses, and difficult driving conditions. On top of this, a severe thunderstorm warning for Guelph and surrounding areas was releases shortly after 11:00 a.m.
