A social media famous corgi from Kitchener, Ont. is being recognized for something other than his online presence.
Waldo the corgi has nearly 14,000 TikTok followers and his wiggle and wobble are well-known for his appearances in several commercials and his head-turning visits to local festivals.
“Every year at the Oktoberfest festhallen in downtown, we bring him in lederhosen and then he’ll meet and great with people,” said Jess Parker, Waldo’s owner.

But about one week ago, a routine walk with Parker took a turn.
The path behind her home was quite muddy after a lot of snow melted, which made conditions quite slippery. It took Parker’s feet right out from under her.
“My body went and my right leg didn’t. I heard a giant crack and I knew that something was wrong,” said Parker. “My foot was facing completely east and my body was facing north. So it was very gruesome.”
The pain was instant and with no phone on her, she felt helpless.
Parker began screaming because the path she was walking on is set far back from the main road. She was frightened nobody would be able to hear her.
“Waldo immediately jumps to action. He kisses me on the face and then runs away,” she said.

She remained on her back, in pain, and was worried until Waldo reappeared.
“I saw him out in the distance tugging on a stranger’s pant leg. He starts barking and he leads the guy to me. I’ve never met this guy before,” Parker said.
But Waldo immediately took off again. What Parker didn’t know was he had dashed to get more help. This time, he got the attention of Parker’s landlord and her husband.
“We just came right down and I could see some people gathering,” said husband Brady Parker. “I could hear Jess. She was in a lot of pain.”
Paramedics were called and arrived shortly after.
“The doctor said I got there just in time. I was losing a lot of blood to my foot and that can be quite dangerous,” said Parker.

The quick-thinking corgi is being hailed a hero.
“I had hoped I’d never find out, but thankfully, Waldo did pass the Lassie test,” she said.
With Parker now on the road to recovery post-operation, if you’re left wondering ‘where’s Waldo?’ he’s right where he’s supposed to be – by his owner’s side.

Aside from Waldo’s TikTok account, you can also keep in touch with the corgi’s adventures by staying up-to-date with his appearances in different advertisements created by Parker Media.
