CTV Kitchener: Wilmot says yes to statues A plan to erect statues of Canada’s prime ministers at Castle Kilbride has been approved by Wilmot councillors.

Wilmot Township will soon be home to statues of Canada's 22 former prime ministers.

On Monday, council passed a staff recommendation to go ahead with the project and Mayor Les Armstrong says it was a unanimous decision.

The statues will be built at the Baden landmark Castle Kilbride.

The project had previously struggled to find a home after Kitchener councillors rejected the idea of putting them at Victoria Park and then a petition prompted Wilfrid Laurier University to back out.

It's now up to a committee to decide how to move forward.
