The Battle of the 401: Kitchener Rangers and London Knights kick off Western Conference finals

As the Kitchener Rangers get ready to take on the London Knights, CTV’s Jeff Pickel catches up with two stars who help lift the team to victory.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Western Conference finals begin Friday night.

The Kitchener Rangers are on the road to London to take on the Knights in the Battle of the 401.

Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Kitchener pulled themselves out of a three-game hole in their series against the Windsor Spitfires to punch their ticket to the Western Conference finals with and a 2-1 overtime win. The Rangers are the sixth team in OHL history to come back from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the London Knights have yet to lose a game in the post-season.

The Knights and Rangers met up six times throughout the regular season. London came out on top four times while the Rangers won twice.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the two teams have clashed in the OHL playoffs.

Western Conference final schedule:

Game 1 - Friday, April 25 in London at 7 p.m.

Game 2 – Sunday, April 27 in London at 4 p.m.

Game 3 – Monday, April 28 in Kitchener at 7 p.m.

Game 4 – Wednesday, April 30 in Kitchener at 7 p.m.

Game 5 – Friday, May 2 in London at 7 p.m.*

Game 6 – Sunday, May 4 in Kitchener at 2 p.m.*

Game 7 – Tuesday, May 6 in London at 7 p.m.*
