Guelph man arrested after alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy and woman

A Guelph man has been arrested after two people, one of them a teenager, was reportedly sexually assaulted earlier this week.

Police were called to the area of Wyndham Street North and Macdonell Street just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to police, a 15-year-old boy said he was downtown when he was approached by an older man.

The stranger then offered him money for sex.

“The subject followed the teen, throwing cash at him and eventually touched him in a sexual manner inside a business,” police said in a media release.

Police said a woman witnessed the interaction and intervened, allowing the teen to flee. The man then allegedly asked the woman to go to his house for sex before sexually assaulting her twice.

The victim went inside a nearby business and staff there called police.

The suspect left before officers arrived, but he was eventually identified.

A 65-year-old Guelph man was arrested on Thursday for sexual interference, two counts of sexual assault and obtaining sexual services for consideration.
