A Guelph man is facing four counts of assault with a weapon after police say four people were attacked in separate incidents Friday.
Just before 11 a.m., Guelph Police say the accused was outside a business on Baker Street when he reportedly struck another male in the face with a rod.
Staff from the business intervened, but the man hit a second victim in the face with the rod police said in a media release. “The subject fled the area, but a short time later was involved in an altercation with another passerby, raising his guitar over his head in a threatening manner.”
Approximately an hour later police were called to a business on Silvercreek Parkway North. A man was reportedly shopping in the store when he was approached by another man, who briefly spoke to him and then repeatedly swung a rod at his head. The victim was able to duck but was hurt after he was struck on the shoulder and forearm.
A 46-year-old Guelph man was arrested for four counts of assault with a weapon and one count of assault causing bodily harm.
