A Guelph man who was arrested last summer after another man was allegedly stabbed outside his own home is back in custody.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on June 2, Guelph Police were called to a residence near Eramosa Road and Speedvale Avenue East.

“The caller advised two males had attacked her 25-year-old son when he went outside to speak to them,” police said in a media release. “He sustained lacerations to his abdomen and arm and was transported to a Hamilton trauma centre for treatment.”

Police believe the incident was targeted.

A week later, a 27-year-old Guelph man turned himself in to police.

He faces numerous charges including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. He was released on bail but was arrested on Monday after his bail guarantor revoked.

He’s scheduled for another bail hearing on Friday.
