Guelph teen arrested for spitting on six people, including five police officers

A Guelph teen is facing five counts of assaulting police after the Guelph Police Service said he spat on multiple officers last month.

On Oct. 26, police responded to a disturbance at a Waterloo Avenue home just before 5 p.m.

When police arrived, they arrested a teenager who pushed an officer inside the home.

Police said the boy was then taken to hospital, but did not specify what kind of treatment he received. They said he also spat in the face of two officers while he was at the hospital and spat on the clothing of two other officers.

Once the teen was moved to a private room at the hospital, police say he spat in the face of another officer and a security guard. Officers left him in the care of hospital staff for treatment.

On Nov. 16, police said they found the boy at a home in the south end of Guelph, where he was arrested.

The 16-year old boy has been charged with one count of assault and five counts of assaulting police.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31.
