Guelph Police are investigating after they say someone broke into a downtown business.
On Friday morning, employees of an unnamed business near Quebec and Baker Streets noticed their glass front door was smashed.
Staff covered the broken door with boards and continued on with business for the day.
Employees said they left around 6:30 p.m., but when the owner returned to drop something off two hours later, the boards had been removed from the door.
Police said a laptop, coffee maker and a large number of personal care items were stolen.
“The suspect also stole a laundry hamper, which was likely used to carry the other items,” police said in a media release.
The cost of the stolen items is estimated at $3,000.
