More than 60 bottles of scotch and cognac stolen in Guelph

Police are on the hunt for four suspects after dozens of bottles of alcohol were stolen from a south-end LCBO in separate incidents.

The first call came in on Sunday evening around 7:15 p.m. Officers with the Guelph Police Service were told a man entered the store on Scottsdale Drive and began hiding bottles of scotch in his jacket.

A short time later another man, this time with a blue wheeled bag, walked into the store, put 18 bottles of scotch inside his bag, and walked out. The first suspect left the store at the same time.

Police said in all, 20 bottles were taken.

The first suspect was described as a 5’7” man, approximately 35 to 40-years-old and weighing 160 pounds. He wore a black jacket, blue scarf and blue hat. He carried a blue bag.

The second suspect was described as a 5’9” man, approximately 35 to 40-years-old and weighing 180 pounds. He wore a black shirt, green khaki pants, a red and black hat with the Punisher logo and Converse shoes.

Less than an hour later, two other men entered the same store and walked to the warehouse section where they began putting high-end products in a cart. They walked out through the back door with 44 bottles of scotch and cognac.

The first suspect was described as a Brown man with a beard. He wore a green jacket, grey sweatpants, a checkered scarf and white shoes.

The second suspect was described as a Brown man wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black winter hat and white shoes.

Police do not know if the two incidents are related.
