One person has been forced out of their home following a Friday morning fire in London.
At 7:45 a.m., firefighters were called to an apartment building at 1830 Dumont Street, just southwest of the intersection of Clarke Road and Dundas.
“Fire crews were notified of a working fire in one of the apartments. Crews arrived on the scene to notice some smoke coming from a second-floor apartment, and they made entry,” said Platoon Chief Colin Shewell.

As other residents evacuated, fire crews attacked the advancing flames.
It took less than 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Shewell said damage is estimated at $200,000.
The fire is believed to have begun in the living room.

“One person has been displaced and we’re continuing with the investigation at this time.”
Most residents were allowed back into their units before 9 a.m.
Shewell reported three stations and 16 firefighters were on the scene.
