A 39-year old woman has died from her injuries as the result of a fire on Avalon St. in east London, Ont.
The woman identified by neighbours as Teresa was pulled from her home on April 17 and passed away peacefully after being removed from life support late Saturday evening.

“We continue to guard the premises, in conjunction with an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s (OFM) Investigative Unit,” said Insp. Doug Brown of the London Police Service (LPS).
“At this point, we still haven’t determined any cause for the fire.”
The LPS said the investigation continues with their Major Crimes section, Street Crime Unit, Chief Coroner, and the OFM.
The massive blaze took place mid-afternoon on the small residential street near Clarke Road.
“Our crews arrived on scene to heavy smoke and fire,” London Fire Dept. Platoon Chief Colin Shewell told CTV News on April 17.
“One individual was on the front lawn. Crews administered first aid to that individual, waiting for Middlesex-London paramedics to arrive.”

Neighbours said Teresa, 39, has a husband and son. Neighbours also said her family allowed homeless people to stay in her backyard, either in tents or multiple structures back there.
A man who wished not to be identified said he was one of four people living in the yard, and he helped pull Teresa out of the home. He added she suffered serious burns.
Multiple items were scattered on the lawn, and others were being removed by fire inspectors. Some of those items included charred e-bikes and scooters.

The inside of the home has been completely gutted, and damage is estimated over $500,000.
“Our Criminal Investigation Division, specifically for arsons, will be working with the Fire Marshal service just to determine how this happened and try to get to the bottom of it,” said Brown.
