Aerial lift takes tumble from truck in south London, Ont.

Some residents of Old South got an eyeful Thursday morning when a piece of heavy equipment took a spill off a truck and onto a sidewalk.

A crew working on Grand Avenue had been unloading a cherry picker-type aerial lift from a flatbed truck with hydraulic cylinders. One of the cylinders failed, sending the aerial lift and its stick boom onto its side on the sidewalk.

There was no one in the lift at the time, and no one was hurt.

Traffic in the area was detoured temporarily while a crew worked to recover the downed equipment.
