Trevor Birtch was found guilty today in a London courtroom, convicted on sexual assault charges. CTV London’s Nick Paparella was there.

Former Woodstock Mayor Trevor Birtch has been found guilty on two of three sexual assault charges in a London courtroom.

After a trial in September 2024, the court heard Birtch had been in a tumultuous sexual relationship with the female complainant between 2019 and 2022 – at times fueled by cocaine and alcohol.

Justice Spencer Nicholson told the court Wednesday Birtch was not being truthful when testifying during the trial last year, saying, “I find he lied frequently and extravagantly and frankly insulted the court’s intelligence.”

He is expected to be sentenced May 5.
