Mickey Mouse is in town – that’s right, the latest stop for Disney on Ice is right here in the Forest City.
Although skating may come to mind, this show has everything from aerials and acrobatics to dancing and crowd participation.
The colourful cast includes characters from Coco, Moana, Aladdin, Toy Story and of course Frozen. The cast will be on the ice at Canada Life Place tonight until Sunday.
“There is not a bad seat in the house,” said cast member and line captain Jazmine Bezugly. “We not only have our figure skating, of course, where you’re going to get to see so many cool tricks and stunts and all of the different characters, but then we also have so many aerial and acrobatic elements as well.”
Bezugly grew up on a farm near Saskatoon, Sask., “I portray the role of Jesse from Toy Story. So I’m a cowgirl on the ice as well as a cowgirl at heart,” she joked.
The show is on tonight at 7:00 p.m., and continues into Sunday at Canada Life Place. If you’re busy this weekend, a short drive to Kitchener would mean you could see the show next week – that’s the next stop on their tour.
“We have a little bit of a run here in Canada, which is really exciting because I love obviously being on Canadian soil and performing for a Canadian crowd,” said Bezugly. “We’ve never actually brought the show to London or Kitchener.”
