City workers to the rescue as family of geese ties up downtown traffic

A London city works crew sprung into action Monday afternoon when some stragglers were holding up traffic on Dundas Place.

Those stragglers happened to be of the feathered, and somewhat ill-tempered kind.

A pair of geese and a trio of goslings were causing a traffic tie-up on the busy downtown throughfare.

The little ones had trouble hopping onto a cement curb around a flower bed, so instead the family made its way westward along Dundas.

Two employees from the city’s Horticultural Division were working nearby and noticed the commotion. They quickly stepped in, guiding the family across Ridout Street and towards the safety of the Thames River.

The workers say the geese don’t like their orange vests, so they tend to run in the opposite direction.
