Coroner’s jury views video of man moments before dying while in police custody

The inquest continues into the deaths of two men who died in London, Ont. police custody.

The Coroner’s Inquest looking into the deaths of two London men while in police custody viewed video of one of them while he was in a jail cell.

The jury was shown how Fabian Hart was booked and placed into cells at London Police Headquarters after he was arrested in February of 2021.

In the video, Hart is seen getting increasingly ill and starts shaking before his body goes limp.

Officers on the scene observe that he is in distress and rush him to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The inquest, which got underway last week, is looking into the deaths of Hart and another man, 55-year-old Christopher Campbell.

They died three years apart while in police custody.

The proceedings are expected to last until March 8.
