Easton Cowan stretches point streak to 60 consecutive games in Knights win over Wolves

Easton Cowan had two goals and one assist, extending his regular-season point streak to 60 consecutive games in an 8-1 win over Sudbury Sunday.

London held a 1-0 lead after the opening 20 minutes, but exploded for five goals in the second period aided by Cowan’s three points.

Finnish teammates Kasper Halttunen had four assists and Jesse Nurmi scored twice as London maintained top spot in the OHL standings with a 9-0-1-0 streak.

Goaltender Austin Elliott made 17 saves on 18 shots, and won again improving to a perfect 18-0 since joining the Knights early in the year.

Landon Sim, Sam O’Reilly, Denver Barkey, and Henry Brzustewicz also scored for London.

The Knights will now hit the road for the next four games. They are in Kitchener Tuesday, then leave Wednesday for a northern trip to North Bay, Sudbury and SS. Marie.
