In a London courtroom on Thursday, the Crown wrapped up its evidence at the second degree murder trial of 34-year-old Koree Dockstater by calling its final witness in the case.

Robert Johns told the court that he spotted the body of 27-year-old Shaniqua Henry lying by a puddle along a long laneway off Jubilee Drive in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation in July, 2022.

He said he tried to help the victim by performing chest compressions saying, “I tried first aid stuff.”

Johns would eventually find out that Henry died from stab wounds to the chest.

Dockstater has plead not guilty to second degree murder.

After Johns testimony, the Crown wrapped up it’s case and the defence told the court it would not be calling any evidence.

Both sides are expected to give closing arguments on April 4.
