A big drop in the price of gas is a welcome sight for London and area motorists.
The consumer carbon tax disappeared Tuesday morning, sending the price of a litre of fuel down by as much as 20 cents.
A litre of gas sat at $1.36 at most service stations.
For many, it is a cause for celebration.
“Beautiful prices! We haven’t seen that price for like a month! I love it! Everyone loves it,” said premium fuel buyer Ali.
The jubilation is especially true for those who spend plenty of time behind the wheel for business, including Chad Elliott, a landscaper.
“A huge difference, a huge difference. I’m able to put an extra $20, $30 in my tank, which means an extra $20, $30 on my table. Last year was a real struggle for me. And, hopefully, this year I’ll be on the bank a bit.”

Families are also feeling relief.
“I think this is going to make a huge difference. We have three kids. And with the groceries being as high as they are, it’s nice to be able to save,” shared Angela Salvador.
The drop at the pumps coincides with the final carbon tax rebate cheques arriving in the mail this month.
While those who rarely drive said they would prefer the cheques, most preferred seeing a daily difference at the pumps.
“I would appreciate it here more than on that (a cheque),” said Owen Craigie while fueling his economy car.

While most consumers welcome the price drop, some tell us political leaders will need to do more during the election campaign to make it easier for them to weather the economic storm.
“Will I notice [falling gas prices]? I don’t know,” expressed Kyle Brady. “I mean, I go to the grocery store, and prices are through the roof there!”
Leaving him and many other Canadians wanting more than a gas tax break before they cast a ballot.
“I think all platforms, you know I am not really content with any of them right now,” Brady said while placing the pump back on its holder.
