One person arrested after heavy police presence near Port Stanley

One person was taken into custody after a day-long stand-off.

After heavy OPP presence gathered on Bush Line, just west of Mill Road, near Port Stanley, Ont., one person was taken into custody.

The person was barricaded on a rural property on the south side of Bush Line. A long lane led to a collection of buildings on the property.

Members of the Tactical Response Unit were among the officers on scene.

A police negotiator was heard on a loudspeaker calling out to someone on the property.

They warned repeatedly that the house was surrounded and called on the person to come out peacefully.

All resources are now clear of the scene, and one person is being held for bail.
