Infant dies in Norfolk County crash

An infant has died following a two-vehicle crash in Norfolk County on the weekend.

Six people were sent to hospital on Sunday after the crash between a pickup truck and SUV at the intersection of Turkey Point Road and Norfolk County Highway 24 East.

According to police, the six people taken to hospital all had serious non-life-threatening injuries, but a child that was born early as a result of the crash was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling in the area, may have witnessed the collision, or as any relevant information to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
