The London Knights officially clinched a playoff spot Tuesday night, after a 5-3 win over the Kitchener Rangers at Canada Life Place.
Blake Montgomery scored early in the third period to tie the game, before Jared Woolley gave the Knights the lead minutes later. Easton Cowan added an empty-netter to seal the win.
Cowan also had an assist, extending his regular season point streak to 65 games.
The Rangers were trying to close the gap on London in the race for top spot in the OHL standings, but the Knights’ win means five points now separate the two best teams in the league.
London’s next game is Friday night at Canada Life Place against the Peterborough Petes.
