Llyndinshire Golf Course celebrate 50th anniversary

Llyndinshire Golf Course in Arva Ont., celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sunday.

“Llyndinshire was built in 1975,” said Tim Condon, part owner of the course. “Bill and I just happened to be the guys who played the first round here.”

Friends Bill Courneya and Tim Condon looked back on a milestone moment: the first hole-in-one.

“It was 1976, on the 7th hole,” said Courneya. “It happened to be the first hole-in-one here and that’s something I’ll always treasure.”

They said they’re grateful to see the family business grow, building community and friendships along the way.

“It’s built a lot of friendships,” said Courneya. “People come together here, and it’s a beautiful spot.”

“It’s been wonderful to watch things grow,” said Condon. “When we started, the trees were only two feet high, fifty years later, it’s amazing.”

Hundreds gathered to celebrate with live music, shared stories, and games.

“It’s great to see all these faces,” said Condon. “Some of these people have been coming for generations, and seeing everybody here is special. We’ve been here since we were young.”

Siblings Mike Condon and Kelly Weber grew up in the family business, and now their own children are growing up around the course too.

“It’s special,” said Weber. “It’s a great place for them to grow up, as it was for us.”

As for the future of the course, the family says it’s on the green and they plan to make every shot count.
