Voters had a chance to meet their federal election candidates in Elgin-St Thomas-London Thursday evening.

The event was hosted by the St. Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce.

“There’s so much information, we’re inundated with it these days. So, to actually have that direct line where you can express again your concerns about policy issues that are being addressed or even make recommendations and maybe challenging some of these candidates to look at some issues, in different ways. I think it’s critically important to our democracy,” said CEO Paul Jenkins.

The chamber held a similar public forum for the recent provincial election — giving attendees a chance to ask questions of the candidates.
